Hail Damage Re-Cap
Man, there have been a lot of storms producing a lot of hail damage in the last few days. Here's a re-cap of what I have heard about or found news stories on.
Arlington, TX
McKinney, TX
I think everyone has probably already heard about these storms but I wanted to go ahead and include them in this report. They have both been all over the national news so I didn't bother to find any sources on them. All reports say there is widespread, sometimes heavy, damage in these areas with a lot of property hailstorm damage claims.
Odessa, TX
You can read about the hail storm and the hail damage it caused here and here. It looks like the hail damage ranges from light on the West side to moderate on the East with everything else between them. One of the stories above shows pics of the damage and it looks pretty nice.
Tulsa, OK
Everything I'm hearing says the South side of Tulsa is hit with some pretty good hail damage. There are already quite a few guys working that storm already.
Fort Smith, Van Buren, Alma & Ozark, AR
My sources tell me the storm started dropping hail about the middle of Ft. Smith and continued East across the river into Van Buren and down the interstate through Alma and Ozark as well as the other small towns in the path. The majority of the damage seems to be on the East side of Ft. Smith and all of Van Buren. From what I'm hearing, these areas are very hard hit. (Worse than Texarkana)
Huntsville, AL Area
This story discusses some hailstorm damage in rural areas around Huntville, AL. I don't have any idea how widespread this damage may be or how many claims may come out of it but the report was one I hadn't heard anything about before so I thought I'd pass it along.
Texarkana Loss Figures
Well, it looks like the numbers are just about all in for the Texarkana, AR & TX Hail Storm. This news story puts the total insurance losses at $155 Million. Nice Storm!
Keep Your Head
Guys, I have already heard a few horror stories about some ridiculous lo-balling of prices this year. I understand last year was bad and everyone needs to generate cash flow this year but there is some serious hail falling this year. Remember, the prices you quote this year will effect the prices for the whole industry for years to come.
Sell your value and benefits guys, not cheapest price.
This is shaping up to be a pretty darn decent year. Everybody be safe and make some money!
